GALLERY 3:  BY THE SEA

The British seaside is a special place.

A place to play, relax and forget about our troubles.  

But it is also a place that has a mysterious, surreal and sometimes disturbing atmosphere.

These are some of the characteristics that I try to capture as I continue my walk by the sea.

Unfortunately, many of the British seaside's unique characteristics are being erased permanently, sometimes to make way for executive flats with sea views.  Some of the sites featured here no longer exist. Just click on any image to the right to start the slide show.
